A community history project designed
and delivered by Sandringham Enterprise -
an independent rural charity in Norfolk, UK
What our project will do...
Create an oral history archive of the voices of Marham
Work with all local community groups, schools and residents to capture our story
To create a set of community display boards, available to all - telling our story
Write a book, recording the history of our community across the 19th and 20th Centuries
A community history project
Our plan is to create an oral history archive, available to everyone, as a permanent record of the community of Marham over the 19th and 20th Centuries.
You can see from our press release that the project is part of the All our Stories programme.
This is the first version of our website and it will grow through time to include our digital archive, our project galleries and a place to download our Marham history book.
An independent rural charity
We are a group of volunteers, mainly living in Marham and its hinterland, who are interested in developing projects that lend themselves to learning and understanding about our community.
We also work to provide new community buildings, transport services and to encourage the start-up of social enterprises.
You can see us on our main website...
The Heritage Lottery Fund
We are fantastically pleased to be financially supported for this project by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The work is linked to the BBC programme The Great British Story and is also part of the All Our Stories project. Innovatively funded by HLF to help everyone learn more about their heritage.
